Wattletree Consulting was formed in 2018 in response to a need by Australian businesses, that have exposure to volatile commodity prices, for a professional, end to end management consultancy.
Our clients include growers, consumers and investment funds with operations across most Australian states.
Our focus is on providing tailored risk management solutions to assist grain growers, consumers and investment funds achieve their goals with respect to grain pricing outcomes.
We apply an integrated approach, which encompasses both the physical commodity markets and their associated financial derivative markets in seeking to achieve our clients’ goals.

Joe Righetti is a co-founder and principal of Wattletree Consulting. Joe brings a wealth of experience, gained from various senior positions across financial, trading and agricultural institutions. Over that time, he has advised clients on hedging strategies across a wide range of commodities.
Most recently, Joe was responsible for the agricultural derivatives desk at NAB, assisting farmers, consumers and corporate clients with their hedging strategies and the usage of swaps and options. Prior to NAB, Joe spent five years with Macquarie Bank leading the sales and structuring of bulk freight derivatives through north and south Asia. He has also held roles in risk management, trade finance and trading with AWB and Cargill.

Jon Bucknall is a co-founder and principal of Wattletree Consulting. Jon’s career spans some 25 years and brings extensive experience and insights to Wattletree, having held numerous roles covering grain trading and brokering, along with several senior executive positions within the agricultural, commodity trading and financing sectors.
During his career, Jon has served as the Managing Director of ED&F Man, CHS Australia and Touton Australia and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course. In 2014, under Jon’s leadership as General Manager, CHS purchased 50% of Broadbent Grain to create CHS Broadbent.
